she's here...

Our sweet girl came about 10 days early, making her 4 weeks old already!  That is the cause for the radio silence around here.  But, I am going to pop in with a couple quick gift guides for last minute shopping.  Then we will be "back at it" (let's be honest that term is used loosely around here) in the New Year!

easy decor: porcupine quills

Lately I have been eyeing the use of porcupine quills in home decor.  I love it!  It can be as simple as a few quills in a small vase to a statement mirror.  Below is some inspiration as well as some ways to get the look in your home.  I think I will start with a handful of these quills in a tiny vase!

clogs, clogs, clogs

I am loving the news (old) clog trend! I have been hunting for the perfect pair, yet to pull the trigger!  I am pretty sold on this Etsy seller though (style six with a higher heel in black -- that's the plan)!  Below are some of the best I have found in my search:

one // two // three

four // five // six

...and I need to admit that I have been majorly slacking with keeping things going around here.  I am  4 weeks from baby and chasing a busy toddler.  However, the nesting bug hit strong in the last few days, almost all of the bedding in our house has been redone!  I will have some updates and pictures coming soon!

+ These sneakers just came in the mail from j. crew.  I really love them!

+ I tried on this sweater last weekend at a cute store in greenville, twill.  I think I am going to have to order.

+ This is a great napa home tour, lots of inspiration!

+ Zara's new fall arrivals for baby girls, major heart eyes.  Emi is about to be loaded up for the new season.

+ Speaking of style for Emi, I am constantly checking out Progeny shoppe for her.  They are having a pop up shop here in Charleston at Mac + Murphy on September 19th.  (I love this bubble dress)

+ These Free People flares might be my first post baby purchase. They are super flattering on!

+ Amber's DIY credenza is going on my list of to-do's when we move.

go-to paint colors

I always love getting a peek into designers "go-to" paint colors, so I thought it was time to share mine!  I really prefer to keep things neutral, maybe it is the reoccurring nightmares of first painting our interior gold with a bright green bedroom (yikes, it was as bad as it sounds!).  The above colors look good in any lighting, any size room and with almost any style decor, they are easy wins! Additionally, dutch licorice and urbane bronze are great for furniture diy's and doors.

favorites lately

Since I have been MIA for a few months, I thought I would share a few things I have been enjoying almost daily...

MAYA BRENNER INITIAL NECKLACE: I have been eyeing this necklace for at least a year now.  Since I recently celebrated my 30th birthday I used some birthday money to treat myself.  I have zero regrets. I love it! It is simple and dainty and I especially love that it can be layered with anything.  Best part is when we decide on baby girl #2's name I can send it in and have her initial added.

TRADER JOES ALMOND MILK: Not all almond milk is created equal. This one from Trader Joes is so delicious! And I prefer the smaller containers.

LO AND SONS CATALINA BAG: I purchased this bag last year, but have used it so much this summer.  I keep it packed as our beach pool bag and love that I can just grab it and go!

NEW BALANCE TENNIES: I have these in a different color way, but wear them all the time! I love this color combo as well.

YETI TUMBLER: Seriously amazing. Keeps coffee hot, water cold for an impressively long time.  The stainless steel also hold no orders and is super easy to clean.

GAPFIT BREATH TANK: One of my favorite work out tanks.

LULU AND GEORGIA - MEXICAN AND BLANKET: Great to throw on the bed for some added color. But, it has also seen plenty of trips to the beach and park this summer.

FOREVER21 GREY TEE: Less than $6! I recommend sizing up. I live under the theory that you can never have too many grey tees.

i'm backkkkk... (let's catch up!)

Wow, that was not the plan.  You know, to start a blog and business back up and then only last for a few months before disappearing again!  I sort of have good reason, maybe.  Baby girl Jones #2 is on her way.  We are just over three months from meeting her and so so grateful to be adding to our family and experiencing this again.

However, as I look at my days and what I love to do it is still to raise my babies and style homes and closets. So, I feel it only makes sense for me to do my best to keep up with this corner of my world and keep on keeping' on.

Follow along on bloglovin' as I am planning on popping in with some kitchen designs from my latest project, nursery plans, fall shopping, maternity style tips and a few house updates.   I also just updated v+r picks for fall!

I wasn't planning on being so MIA this week. Part of starting this thing back was promising myself that I wouldn't post just to post. But, these little Friday round ups are a favorite of mine.

+ Design rules you should follow, these are great!

+ How to dress your age according to J. Crew.

+ I added a new page to the site.  I will keep it up to date with my picks for you and your home!

+ This week made me really excited for summertime with my girl.  Her excitement when I took her to the beach for the day was so fun to watch!

+ 10 best rattan armchairs

+ One of my favorite Charleston shops on instagram, a favorite follow.

+ OP at fashion week, she always looks so good!

+ I could eat brussel sprouts every day! No fail recipe: halve or quarter your sprouts, spread them out in a cast iron skillet, drizzle with olive oil, sea salt, fresh garlic. Stick them in the oven for 45-60 minutes on 400. Broil at the end for desired crispiness. I am telling you, they are like candy.

+ Tips on decorating your first home!

+ It is safe to say I love everything studio mcgee does!

+ I more or less follow a "capsule wardrobe".  I buy a handful of key pieces that can be worn lots of different ways. I think out my purchases for often way too long before I purchase. I have found this method building a wardrobe very freeing for me. I plan on doing a post on my spring wardrobe additions, until then here are some minimalist reads: un-fancy and effortless chic.

+ I loved gone girl and keep hearing the girl on a train is equally as good.  Have you read it? I am going to download it this weekend!

+ I always have my eyes peeled for good sneaks. I love these in bone and black/navy.

+ I am a loeffler randall fan.  I have been eyeing some of their fun sandals on Piperlime (bound to go on sale with their closing!) These, these and these

+ spring forward this weekend , I am personally excited for an extra hour a daylight for my evening runs!

If you follow on instagram then you have seen some snaps from the project I have been working on, a beautiful home on the creeks of the low country.  The owners have great taste so I am very grateful they want me to tag along for the process.

                                      one // two // three //  four // five // six // seven // eight

                                      one // two // three //  four // five // six // seven // eight

We are leaning towards a style like four (with opal shade) or six.  either way they will be gorgeous hanging over the charcoal grey island with super white granite! Stay tuned for lots of design boards, great finds and inspiration for this project!
